- If you are getting an uplift, a breast augmentation or a breast reduction, you may also need a nipple reduction procedure for best results.
- For a minimal reduction, you may be recommended a lollipop incision – which circles your areola and extends vertically down the centre of the breast.
- For more significant results, you may need an anchor incision – which in addition to a lollipop incision, also involves an incision under the breast crease.
- The procedure typically takes under an hour, and is performed under local anaesthesia.
- You will be asked to wear a post-operative bra for 6 weeks after the surgery.
- Some patients may face issues with breastfeeding after a nipple reduction. So this procedure is recommended after you are done with having children.
